![]() !!!Notably this game in the alpha & in this version are about going through interesting generated progression in varied but repetitive fashion in a mostly well refined satisfying formula, their is a lot of variety & combat feels good, difficult at times, & engaging. It is the reason I fell in love with souls games later to some extent & I still think of it.Įven if its a while to wait or you just take this game as it is now it has some charm & good aspects to admire and enjoy that I think are worth it if your up to try it if your curious. It hit me hard the reappearance on me for a bit & brought me back to reflect on this game. Recently with Wollay's show of Procedural Generated Voxel models of chracters and plans for Ememies, Weapons, Pets, NPCs, & like more. Likely mostly on the long term to near indefinite repeatable varied formula that was tweaked & changes from alpha (my guess due the coop flaws of levels mentioned earlier & wanting to add more to the formula, notably this games quests & varied tasks systems) to here (there are mods for some parts of those longer progression systems in the steam release here as well) (Notably this is due to this game likely being a heartfelt hobby project of some kind, getting lots of attention, getting lots of expectations, & experiences of lots of negativity sadly. This game its history of the dev taking steps 2 major back away from the game for long time but does show up & likely shows some stuff off and eventually does more for us to touch. (Find the cube world discord server or look around YouTube for ideas on mods) though fun can be had without these few qol I do recommend them. ![]() Also each pet takes a specific food, which is either looking at a wiki or replacing the language file to say on the item what pet it is for. These being a subclass of Tank (Guardian) saying 25%hp increase but being 25hp, few late game permanent items lacking gained from areas the static said buff that isn't directly combat related, & making the text chat work in multiplayer use. There are a few each to mod patches as well that fix 2-3 main bugs / oversight but game does run smooth & its satisfying. If your up to this oddity I would reccomend it. Compared to the few hundreds of hours on the alpha when I was younger. I have very many words over what this game does right with its design and still think back and admire in once in a while. The progression itself has fun to it as well. That does mean Coop works well despite progression due to not having every player be a certain level to be useful like the alpha. (Except non combat directly related buffs) Though each is a decent bit of content. The main thing this lacks currently is a major form of progression post an biome. Large (very huge) enough procedurally generated world of content and lots of depth + fun that can be had. (Large)Area based / lock progression thats gotten back when you revisit. ![]() Remeber Shift + Jump is a thing and makes the game more fun for some chracters notably. ![]()
